About Fred Champion Groundworks

Established in 1983, Champion Groundworks has developed into one of the largest groundworks contractors in Cornwall.

The Challenge

Champion Groundworks were using outdated, paper-based systems for managing timesheets and payroll, causing a myriad of challenges. The long-winded process not only led to concerns about accurately tracking sign in / out times but also resulted in time-consuming phone calls and mountains of endless timesheets.


Alongside this, Champion were using spreadsheets to manage and upkeep training skills / certs which was laborious and difficult to keep up-to-date. They were also sending training notifications to operatives via post which sometimes led to missed or forgotten training sessions

The 'Who's On Site' feature allows him, and other management, to preview who is on site before arriving, enhancing overall visibility and management efficiency.


4| Farewell to out-of-date spreadsheets


Champion bid farewell to reliance on Excel spreadsheets for skills and training management. Chime's real-time skills matrix facilitates a quick review of impending certs details and expiry dates. Managers and operatives can access this information independently, eliminating the need for constant inquiries.


5 | Excellent Communication office to site


Whether it's sending SHE alerts or notifying individuals about training bookings, Chime has replaced traditional paper methods.
