Brown & Carroll, renowned for creating and installing top-quality specialist joinery, faced significant challenges in managing their workforce's time. With a large team spread across their factory workshops and multiple sites, they previously implemented a fingerprint system. However, this system proved unreliable and inflexible, leading to frequent manual input of hours worked and eventually going back to paper timesheets to record labour hours across projects. This was no solution and the process meant it was difficult to generate accurate reports on project costs and productivity levels, hindering effective decision-making and resource allocation.
